Facet arthropathy is a degenerative condition that affects the spine. The facet joints are found between the vertebrae of each segment of your spinal column. Osteoarthritis can develop in these joints and may be called facet arthropathy or facet joint osteoarthritis. This can occur in the neck or lower back and can cause pain in these areas.
